WITH A BREATHTAKING VIEW OF DOWNTOWN AUSTIN, THIS BEAUTIFUL HOME WAS ORIGINALLY BUILT IN 1999 BY DAVID DALGLEISH AND HIS TEAM. ASHBY COLLECTIVE HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH DALGLEISH CONSTRUCTION AGAIN, ALONG WITH DALLAS BASED ARCHITECT JESSICA STEWART LENDVAY, TO COMPLETELY RENOVATE THE INTERIORS OVER THE COURSE OF TWO YEARS. AFTER LIVING IN THE NORTHEAST FOR OVER 14 YEARS AND RELOCATING TO AUSTIN IN 2014, THE CLIENTS WERE INSPIRED BY A EUROPEAN MID-CENTURY MODERN AESTHETIC, WHILE STILL ACKNOWLEDGING THEIR LOVE FOR OLD WORLD NEW ENGLAND STYLE. IT WAS IMPORTANT FOR US TO COHESIVELY MERGE THESE TWO STYLES, FROM BOTH AN ARCHITECTURAL AND DESIGN PERSPECTIVE.
Details like limestone in the dining room create a link to the Stratford Hills setting, while an overall effect of visual restraint allows the clients’ art collection and furniture to take center stage.
